My team regularly knows more than me about tools, models, and methodologies. I stopped trying to close that gap and started being honest about it. What surprised me: it didn't erode confidence — it built it. Saying 'I don't know, let's figure it out together' turns out to be far more motivating than projecting certainty you don't have.
